Wednesdays in May 5:00 to 6:00 p.m. Lake Street/Marshall Avenue Bridge, Minneapolis/St. Paul. Despite the majority of people beingagainst new wars and interventions, the talk of military involvement in yet another war is growing. U.S. military intervention will not lead to peace, justice or democracy for the Syrian people, who are the victims of the ongoing violence. 3. 6th Annual WAMM Walk Against Weapons

Saturday, June 8, 10:30 a.m. (check-in) Bakers Square Restaurant (Parking Lot), 928 Prairie Center Drive, Eden Prairie. Three mile walk encircling Eden Prairie Shopping Center begins at 11:00 a.m. Walk ends at with a rally at ATK (Alliant Techsystems) 7480 Flying Cloud Drive at 12:30 p.m. shuttles will then take walkers back to Bakers Square. 7. Movie and Presentation: “U.S.S. Liberty Dead in the Water”

Saturday, May 18, 9:30 a.m. (Refreshments) 10:00 a.m. to Noon (Program and Discussion) The Lutheran Church of Christ the Redeemer, 5440 Penn Avenue South, Minneapolis. The film is a 68 minute documentary, a 2002 BBC production that uses startling new evidence to reveal the truth behind the seemingly inexplicable attack. The film combines dramatic reconstruction of the events, with new access to former officers in the US and Israeli armed forces and intelligence services who have decided to give their own version of events.

After viewing the film, we are fortunate to hear Glenn Oliphant, a USS Liberty survivor, comments on the attack and Presents the latest on the “mistaken identity” In 1967 Glenn was an electronic technician aboard the USS Liberty. 8. Program and Discussion: The Boston Lockdown-After Boston: Attack on Civil Liberties

Sunday, May 19, 2:00 p.m. 4200 Cedar Avenue South, Minneapolis. In the wake of the bombing of the Boston Marathon, 9000 police and 1000 FBI agents descended on Boston and on April 19, authorities declared a “lockdown” of the city, shutting down public transportation and telling people to stay indoors.  Along with the hysteria whipped up by the media and government about terrorism, comes virulent anti-Islam and anti-immigrant frenzy.  This includes calls for “securing” U.S. borders.
