Rogue sheep falling off truck causes fiery Kwinana Freeway crash

A sheep falling off a truck in Perth’s south has caused a fiery crash and traffic gridlock on the Kwinana Freeway on Wednesday afternoon.

A WA Police spokesman said the incident occurred around 1pm.

“A sheep has escaped from a large truck on the Kwinana Freeway near Anketell Road and as a result caused an accident between two vehicles,” he said.

“One of the vehicles caught a light as a result.

“No persons were injured.”

Main Roads said traffic on the freeway had been reduced to a single lane while the charred vehicle was being removed from the road.

Police and firefighters remained at the scene.

Traffic is heavy back to Armadale Road.
